How come you cant delete your own posts?

I just did a double post but it wont let me delete one of my own post. Why not?

I think it is silly I have to bother Jenny if I want to delete something I write.

Re: How come you cant delete your own posts?

  • I think there might be a minimum amount of time that has to pass or something, because you absolutely can delete your own posts. I remember having this problem before, too, but I've deleted older posts without any issue.

  • Hello Bugabean!

Has it been awhile since your last post? I cant remember.

    How are the girls?

  • Yeah, I've been scarce for a while. The girls are doing great, thanks! They are loving daycare which is good since I'm job hunting now.

  • Good Luck on the job hunt! I hope something great turns up soon!

  • Yeah, there must be a minimum amount of time, or maybe you have to reach a certain posting status? Because I delete my older posts pretty regularly and have no problems.

  • You can't delete them right away. Does it give you the message that Delete Permission has expired?

Permission Expired: Post Delete Permission Expired

If that's the case, you have to wait a minute or two, try again, and then it lets you delete it.

I think it's a bug. I can imagine the kind of code that might lead to this. But like most bugs in the Nest forums, I doubt it will ever be fixed. There are so many. Especially if you ever try to edit your account information! Sheesh!

Why do you delete posts regularly?

Just clearing history. I figure that giving out little bits of information in individual posts isn't that big of a deal, but all of those little bits accumulate, and I'd like to make them more difficult to find. Plus occasionally I'll answer a post with pretty personal information (like some of the sex posts) that I really don't want to stay out there in case someone and some point links my name to my sn. And I also figure that no one cares anymore what I wrote 4 months ago.
