I got a Tervis tumbler for my birthday, and really like it! I got this monogram one... but in the 16oz. size. TBH, when my aunt sent me a plastic tumbler in the mail I was like "Huh?" - and, I initially enjoyed the lottery tickets inside more (until I realized they were losers... LOL) Until I saw your post yesterday, I assumed that it was just a random cheap plastic cup that she got on clearance somewhere... hahhaa.
I used it last night - and it really keeps stuff cold for a long time without getting all schwety! I had an ice
After the poll post yesterday, I also discovered that I can order a travel lid (mine didn't come with one)... so I can use the cup even more. 
Anyway, I know this post is random. But, thanks for making me aware that my new cup is awesome.

You're not alone in that reaction, fyi. I'd heard how awesome they were before Christmas, and got them for my DH, SIL and BIL. Well I had told DH that he couldn't know what his sister and BIL's gifts were, b/c he was getting the same thing. When he opened his, he was definitely like, "ummm... gee, thanks, and this is what we got them, too? Wow, awesome (so not awesome)." Haha.
I think it's tough to know how great they are before you use them. I love that I can have my coffee in it in the morning, then wash it out and use it for water. And it's fab that they're dishwasher and microwave safe.
Tervis for life!
