Kitty Puke...

So Sammy has a history of being a puker. She used to throw up at least weekly before I got some food education and made the switch to CS dry and Wellness wet.

Well, recently I found Merrick's wet foods (normal wet and Before Grain), are less expensive than the Wellness (by nearly $.50/can), so I bought that instead.

We started on the 3rd can of BG 2 days ago, and in those 2 days, Sammy has puked twice and coughed up some frothy spittle with a little hair in it.

What's the consensus? Go back to feeding the Wellness wet to at least Sammy (Scamp has an iron constitution and does great on anything I give her)? Monitor a bit longer?

TIA!

(FWIW, the 3rd can is Salmon. She's had wet food that included salmon before, but this is just labeled "Salmon." I'd have to look at the ingredients to see how much there is/what other proteins there are.)

Re: Kitty Puke...

  • Is it possible it's just too much of a new thing too soon? Can you gradually introduce it to him like you would do it with dry food? Might not hurt to try!

Or perhaps he just has a nasty hair ball and is waiting for you to get the carpets cleaned so he can find a nice spot to hack it up on....
  • I don't really know how to "gradually" switch wet foods. They only get a spoonful each evening. They got Merrick back in late November/early Dec as something special and were fine with it then. Sammy isn't eating at all now though ..different post...going to update in a new one...
