My husband and I just moved to Charlotte last month. He has a job, but I am still job searching (a frustrating process, to say the least). We are looking for fun things to do in the Charlotte area, and especially things where we might be able to meet new people. Any suggestions?
Re: New Charlotte Nesties!
H and I just moved to Charlotte, too! Well maybe not "just moved". H started working here in January last year and we moved completely over the summer.
I can commiserate with you about the job search. I searched for 6 long months before finally finding something What field are you searching in? I recommend the website www.indeed.com
I'm not sure I can help you with fun things to do because we've just finally gotten settled here. I know there's the epicenter downtown, tons of sports (Bobcats, Panthers, Checkers, Knights, etc.), lots of restaurants and museums. Charlotte Restaurant Week is Jan 20-29. You could also check out the website called Charlotte's Got A Lot.
P.S. I saw you are from Blacksburg... H and I both went to Virginia Tech!
H and I both went to Virginia Tech too! I just graduated with an MSArch in Interior Design in December and I'm currently trying to find a job in the architecture/design industry, which is not particularly booming right now Fingers crossed that things turn around before unemployment drives me insane!
I saw a commercial for the Restaurant week which sounds promising, but I had not heard about that website -- I will definitely check it out! Thanks so much!!
