Re: **soralette**
Oh, dude, it's SO on. XD Prepare for picspam!
I'll make a few replies here with pics, so you can see...
Haha, yeah, that was us.
We're huge geeks. rofl. And, I'm definitely a fan of personalizing stuff, too -- it's more meaningful to me that way, y'know? I guess I'm more into "showing one's personality" than "magazine-perfect and gorgeous".
First off, our whole wedding album is here: Clicky!
(This one, I'm sad the photographers didn't get a pic of after the sun set; its real beauty was at night, with the candle inside making the entire thing glow...!)
This one was pneumatic!
Hm, sorry for the side-scroll. Kind of unavoidable, though!
First off, close-ups of the dragons at the Sweetheart Table:
Mine:

DH's:

...
And now for some other geeky touches...
Like our cake:
And our 'guestbook':
And the decoration for between the seating chart assignments:
Oh, and our programs had a crossword puzzle that DH wrote on the last two pages:
well first, those are elaborate! when you said legos i was thinking something more along the lines of what i could create.. which is basically limited to big legos stacked in 'walls' or squares..
second, your cake is INCREDIBLE!
Orite, our favours were candy legos:
....
And just for proof that the ceremony was normal, the entire bridal party at the church between the ceremony and the reception:
Haha, we had a LOT of help. I think the only one that I did that actually made it to the wedding was the Yellow Submarine one.
Of course, it's amazing how easy it is to conscript friends to come help make centrepieces when the invite runs, "Come over and help us make Lego castles!" ...
We had probably seven different people making Lego structures (some of which we saved as backups in case the originals got broken apart!) for probably a total of ten hours across a few different days, which is a huge part of what makes for the variety there.
The cake! Omg, that cake.
I'm glad you like it!! It was done by Mike's Amazing Cakes. I cannot recommend them highly enough. It was also delicious. All that white? Not fondant! It was white modeling chocolate!
Seriously, though -- thank you very much.
I'm glad you like!!
Haha, it's all good!
We're much the same; this Christmas, e.g., was Portal themed. XD DH got the baby Portal bookends and me Portal cookie cutters and a plushy turret.
And, you're absolutely right!! The cake is Minas Tirith from LotR.
Good eye!
Thank you!!
this exactly.
