  • Ha ha. My DH and I had a long chat yesterday about it. It was a great conversation starter.

Yeah I was wondering what today's post would be. Now I see why you hesitated. I'm with Amy -- can't and won't pick. I don't even know how to begin to choose something like that. And I don't think that's a cop-out.

Yep it's a Catch 22 if there ever was one. However, the # who died in the Holocaust is MUCH higher than in 9/11 (10-11 million vs 3000). Purely on numbers, I would probably have to go on the Holocaust. Not to mention that many of those who died in the Holocaust were tortured and endured excruciatingly long, painful deaths vs mostly quick deaths for those in 9/11. Even if you take into account the war(s) that have been sparked out of 9/11, the # of lives lost (in the thousands also) and human rights abuses have still not matched the Holocaust. They're both horrible tragedies that I would want to have avoided, of course.

This is pretty much what I was thinking but was too chicken to post. They were both horrible events, so I think it's a little goofy that we are all afraid of the way we would look if we said something. No one doubts they were horrible, or that we all wish that neither events would happen, so it's okay to talk about it...
