If you wanted a weekend home
Re: If you wanted a weekend home
If you want to avoid the Galveston traffic and drive 288 instead, look in Surfside or Quintana, not the west end of the island. That's a long drive down Bluewater Hwy to get to San Luis Pass. Most of the houses in Surfside are beach houses though and don't have boat docks, there are also very few swimming pools.
I prefer the open water and watching sailboats. I don't care for the noise of motor boats, and that seems to be what is the norm on the lakes.
Seabrook Sailing Club is a really fun group, and they race 470s which are fun boats. I really would like to be near that and get the kids sailing. (Any of the clubs down there would be great.)
Somewhere on the bay over the lakes for me.
I love this one!
