DH, my parents, & I are thinking about visiting the city and Riverwalk during Christmas from Dec. 26-29. Is the Riverwalk still decorated and festive then? I did a little research online but couldn't really figure it out. Also, any ideas of where to stay on the riverwalk, what to do, etc? My parents & I came in '97 but I'm sure lots has changed since then. Thanks for any advice you could give!
Re: ATL nestie needs advice
I can't say for sure but I'm pretty positive that things stay festive down on the riverwalk until after New Years.
As far as recs go, for places to stay I'd recommend Palacio Del Rio, Marriot, Valencia, Sheraton Gunter, or the Menger.
Things to do: depends on what your into....I really love piano bars so they're Dirty Nelly's which is below the Palacio or Howl at the Moon. There's also a few bars and clubs and restaurants worth checking out....and for the life of me I'm drawing a blank and can't think of anything.....but there's lots to do in the downtown area and have the fun is just walking around and stumbling across places.
HTH!
when i was home last year, things were still up on the 30th.
i second marriot and valencia!
