I'm currently in the process of switching our dog Max from one flavor of wellness to another. (the whitefish and sweet potato to the chicken formula) It hasn't been quite a week, so he has one more transition day left. I've noticed he's been scratching a lot lately and honestly can't remember if he started before switching food flavors of after. Can a food allergy show up this fast? He's never had a food problem before, even when we had him on Purina Pro Plan when we first got him.
We know he has a spring pollen allergy, too. It's been fairly warm here (Michigan and we hit the 50's over the weekend!) so we were out in the yard playing with him a lot. Maybe something thought it was spring and pollinated and irritated him? Planning on giving him a bath once H gets home to see if that helps.
Do you think one option is more likely than the other?
