Orlando Thoughts?

We live in South Florida so we've spent lots of time in Orlando, but maybe there is something I am missing. DH is going up for work and  I will be going up with my mom and my two kids (3 and 4 months) arriving at maybe 3pm or so on a Thursday. We will leave for home that Saturday early evening.

We are spending all day Friday at Sea World, but are still debating what to do Thursday and then with DH on Saturday. We don't want to do another theme park and were thinking maybe Downtown Disney on Saturday, but I am not 100% sure that there is enough to keep us occupied most of the day. What do you think? We will probably get into Orlando at about 3pm on Thursday too so any suggestions of things to do or places to go just for the afternoon or early evening?  I was considering maybe driving into Winter Park for dinner, but haven't been there in a super long time to know what is there. Or maybe we'll just let my older son swim in the heated pool and then meet DH for dinner along I-drive. We were also considering dinner at a Disney resort since we are usually so busy at the parks when we go to Disney we don't make it to the resorts.

Re: Orlando Thoughts?

  • What time of year are you going? Maybe try one of the Disney waterparks for that Saturday, and Downtown Disney for dinner & shopping that Thursday night. If you're going to eat at one of Disney's resorts, be sure to call like...rightnow....for reservations. Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary is good for kids, we also like the Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge.
  • i hear there is now legoland and also orlando science museum is nice for the little ones
  • What about Discovery Cove?
