Doggie Downer

Recently my dog started "redecorating" while we are at work. Nothing has changed in our lives, so I'm at a loss as to why the sudden change? I don't want to kennel him all day because he is 8 years old and has never been kenneled.

Any advice/experience to share?

Re: Doggie Downer

  • I have no advice but today my dog decided to eat a chunk of the couch....WHILE he was in his kennel.  The crate is right next to the couch and apparently he was able to claw at it and chew on the armrest.  Grrrrr.....

  • I would recommend crate training him for both his safety and for the safety of your stuff.
  • Is he getting less exercise than usual? Perhaps because of the weather?  Maybe some new fun toys for while you are gone? A puzzle toy or a filled kong. Extra long walk before work too perhaps?

  • I'd also wonder if he needs more exercise.  You could also confine him with a babygate or something to keep him out of trouble zones.
