Now that she is getting older, we don't generally board her as much as we used to, and I prefer to have MIL & FIL watch her if we go out of town. She is due for her 6 month Bordetella vaccination, but I started poking around on the internet and found this article:

Is it unnecessary to get her vaccinated for this if we do not plan on boarding her? Last spring, she had a bad reaction to her DA2PP shot (vomiting & upset/gurgly stomach) and I had to take her back to the vet the next morning where the vet loaded her up with 4 different drugs (metronidazole, famotidine injection, diphenhydramine injection and dexamethasone) to combat the reaction. So I am gun shy on vaccinations and injecting her with chemicals as she's getting older, and when she's fine to begin with. Thoughts?

I don't give Bordetella at all, nor do I give any unnecessary vaccinations. My dog will get titers every 3 years, which is also when he gets his rabies shot.
Our dog gets Bordatella once a year, but it is her only yearly vaccination. She is boarded semi-regularly, and usually without a great deal of warning, so I have to keep her "ready".
If you won't be boarding her and your groomer doesn't require it, I wouldn't be too concerned about keeping it up.
My dogs are only intermittently in daycare (they were in a LOT early last year), and all of the daycare facilities that we use only require once a year, so I was going to skip it this year. But of course, city is doing some property inspection mid day on a week day in a few weeks, so alas, they will need to go back to daycare for the day and needed the shot.
