R.I.P. laptop
So, my laptop died last night. Now it's just a piece of black plastic that has some flashing lights (for some reason the lights for sound and wifi still work, but the screen is black and no humming or anything). I'm thinking of getting a new one, but need to run it by DH first. Maybe a birthday or anniversary present.
Anyway, any recommendations would be appreciated. I essentially would want it for internet, netflix, facebook, feeding my zynga addiction (I've been clean for a year, but might just fall off the wagon if I have a bright, shiny new laptop that doesn't take 10 years to start up), and the like.

Yeah, I have a Nook color. It does most of the stuff that I would want a computer for, but I can't post on the Nest from it. It gets annoying when websites don't have a mobile version or the mobile version doesn't let you access everything on their website. Also, no flash player and I would like a keyboard.
I feel like I'm sounding needy. I guess I just want something that's fully functional and doesn't have the tablet limitations. Tablets are awesome, but they do still have their limits.

You can't c&p, quote or edit posts, but yeah. If you notice that I'm all "my nok colornis greattt" I'm typing from my nook.
Really? I can get through the typing portion of trying to post, but then it won't let me click post. I might have to try again when I get home...
I also hate touch screen keyboards and I can never click on the right link when trying to switch boards.
I do also want it for stuff other than the internet, but the internet is what I use the most.

I do it on a daily basis when I'm pretending to be an attentive parent. I'm not sure on the Kindle though, because from what I understand they wrote an entirely new OS, where the Nook is just an Android tablet without the benefit of the Android store.

PS I have an HP and I lurve it lots.
I got my DS a Gateway with an i5 processor for Christmas and it is very fast! So far so good and it wasn't over-the-top expensive.
FI got a Toshiba Thrive tablet for Christmas, but I haven't tried to post from the nest with it, so I can't say whether or not you can. He goes on other forums with it and hasn't said that he has a problem posting.
I thought this post was going to be a C&P of a horrible horrible tragedy.
