Anyone around? Lily is currently sleeping and I'm all cleaned up after dinner. I'm having a brief interlude of sanity and thought I'd try to take advantage of it.

Re: Nighttime Nesties
I'm debating on making brownies... it sounds like a wonderful plan but I'm home alone so there's a good chance I'll eat everything.
I could also work out while they're baking...
I think you definitely should make some. If you work out a little bit while they're baking, then you won't have to feel so bad when you eat them all.
You own a chocolate fountain!?! Tell me more. I've always kinda' wanted one. We had one at our wedding and I think it would be fun to have one at parties. Which one do you have? Does it work well? Sell me on it and tell me why I have to have one. lol
No fair. Now I really want a brownie. Milsey you definitely need to make brownies and then send me some
I can't have them in the house though since DH is trying to be healthier and he can't say no to baked goods so it will have to be a covert op.
Not much going on here. We're watching the intro to the latest Real World/Road Rules challenge. These things are so stupid but they are hilarious to watch. I'm also searching the library database for a new book to download.
I really can't sell you on it until tomorrow (well, give me until Saturday) because we've never actually used it.
MIL went to a baby shower for her cousin's daughter's 8th child. However, since it was the 8th child AND she apparently has not been in Michigan in over 10 years - it was a super big party where all the guests got really nice door prizes. MIL got a chocolate fountain, chocolate to melt, and some random stuff all in a basket so she gave it to us (we used the basket for our card box - my dad made it into a wishing well!). We haven't had time or a reason to use the actual chocolate fountain though.
HOWEVER, my parents have one and it's always fun to bring out for parties. It's a mess to clean up, but it's generally well-loved by all sorts of guests (as I'm sure you know for having it at your wedding).
I tend to tell myself that chocolate covered strawberries or pretzels are a healthier party food than cookies/brownies. *gets up to start making brownies*
Monday night I made gingerbread cookies. DH and I ate some warm ones with a glass of milk but as I was cleaning up I asked where I should store the rest of them and he told me to get them out of the house. They're in my car. I eat 1-2 everyday after work. It's a wonderful treat.
I'm a bake-a-holic.
There are much worse types of --aholics to be than a bakeaholic.
Agreed. I'm definitely a bakeaholic as well. I haven't done a ton of baking since Lily's been born, but hopefully I'll get back into it soon!
DH is the baker in our house. He loves decorating cakes (not full on cakeboss style but he does really good). I just enjoy eating them.
On a side note, I'm feeling like a bad cat mom because I accidentally shut Bella in our closet for almost an hour tonight
She must have snuck in there while I was changing after work. About an hour later DH was like, "have you seen Bella?" She was super pissed when we found her and let her out
DH likes to make cakes too! He seriously considered making our wedding cake. I would not allow it because 1) too much stress and 2) OUR CAKE ROCKED!!
... I'm sorry about Bella. I would also not appreciate being locked in a closet for an hour.
Your cake is probably one of my favorite cakes I've seen either in real life/TK or in magazines. It's amazing
Speaking of cake - for those of you marrieds who've made it to the 1 year mark, how was your cake? My best friend just had hers and she said it was terrible but I'm really hoping we haven't held on to this sucker only to have it taste bad in the end.
Also, all is well with Bella now. She's now fast asleep on DH's lap while he plays on his iPad. She forgives quite easily.

Exciting!
How ironic. Can't wait to see it!
