Okay ladies, flame-free Friday confession. BRING THEM ON!
Mine: I got into a debate last night with a lady in my Dutch class about daycare. She was completely against daycare "regardless of the circumstances."
I told her that my child was going to daycare today so that I could get a manicure, go shopping, and have a lunch date with a girlfriend. She turned 5 shades of red trying not to scream at me.
What am I really doing today? Working on grad school applications and studying for my driver's theory exam. I just wanted to make her squirm.
Re: FFF Confessions!
I love it Ashley - I'd do the same thing. I don't mind if people have opinions about their own child but when they want to impose it on others, then I want to do the same sort of thing.
I can't think of anything to confess right now...
Ashley, I love it!! That?s awesome!! Way to go.
And now my mind is blank. Oh wait, I did put my kid in daycare this week so I could go out with a friend and have lunch. Ha, and nest and read trashy books about Martha Stewart.
haaahahaha! Germans have a word for women who work and leave their child with other people - Rabenm?tter (raven mother) - because ravens go to other birds' nests, push the eggs out, lay their own, and then the other birds raise the ravens as their own. Nice, huh?
My confession - I wanted to watch what I eat after splurging some in the States over Christmas, but this week was stressful and almost every single day there was a reason to "reward" myself with something I shouldn't eat. DD was horrible on Mon, the nanny was sick on Tues and Wed, I finished a chapter of my dissertation on Thurs, etc, etc, etc. :-(
Ashley, I love it.
It makes me sad that there's only one episode of How Clean Is Your House on a day. If there was a marathon on, I would watch it all day.
What an F'ing biotch.
Mine: I think that dog whisperer dude is pretty hot.
I will piggy back by adding the revelation SO & I came to a few days ago: I find no men under 30 attractive. I mainly am attracted to "old guys". Regular adult men, meh. I like 'em 50+.
How old is your SO?
6 months younger than me!
He hasn't even hit 29 yet, so I stand corrected on the "no dudes under 30" comment.
I'm the opposite. I don't find older men attractive, at all (dh is 12 days older than me, so he is the only one) and sometimes I think that I still believe I am in my early 20s. I think women who date men significantly older than them, say 15+ years, must have daddy issues. I realize this isn't always true, but I still usually think that at first.
BFP Apr 2012, EDD Dec 19 2012 * twin h/b at 6wk, 9wk scan * Baby A lost at 12wks, Baby B was my rainbow born at 36wks
Faye fly me there and I'll watch the kidlets for a week!
I also like older "distinguished," men but I don't discriminate because I'm also attracted to men my own age. I guess I just like men in general.
UK, I agree. My child really does go to daycare but I'm a better mother because I do have time to get the necessary studying I need to do done in a calm environment. So little miss, it's ABANDONING your child, can suck it.
And even if you were dropping her off at daycare to go have drinks and get a manicure, who the f* cares? At least you aren't leaving her with the 12 year old neighbor or something. Some women really need to hop off their high horses.
My FFFC: There is a part of me that is rejoicing that my friend is getting a divorce. I feel so bad for all she is going through right now, but i know that she will be so much better after.
I also like older men, but usually just in their 40s--Mmm!
I hooked up with a fwb before work yesterday. I have a date with a different man this weekend (we've hung out several times before) and plan to hook up with him too. They're both in their 40s. The fwb is going to a country concert with me in March, the man this weekend is super sexy. Neither wants a relationship and I don't either. It's fun being greedy
I love your sexcapades with older men, Mint!
FFC: DH and I skyped last night and I was more excited to see my cat. That says something about my relationship....
2 more weeks to figure out what to do
.
I was always more excited to see my dog than XH. I really think I married him for the dog.
Ashley, I love that.
My confession: I enrolled W in Kid's Day Out so I can do all the things you told that lady you were doing. I figure it'll be good for him to learn how to play with other kids, too.
I truly believe it takes a village to raise a child and sometimes you don't have a natural village so you need to create one. I think is ego centric of that woman to think she can give her child everything it needs to be a productive member of society.
My ffc is kind of stupid. I spent $30 on a pair of sweat pants yesterday! I am also still wearing my summer make up and it makes my face look kind of orange and I know that but don't want to drop money on make up when I could spend money on comfy sweats
For "dinner" I had 1/4 of a box of Cheez-Its and 2 glasses of wine.
I rushed home from work so I could get a jump on all the work I have to do around the house this weekend, but instead I'm nesting and watching Everybody Loves Raymond.
I am a total a**hole.
Last night at dinner, there was a couple sitting next to us. It was clear the man was an American, and he was railing against the country for a good twenty minutes. In no way do I think or claim "the motherland" is perfect, but it's definitely not as bad as he was saying. After biting my tongue for a while I finally spoke up with an "I beg to differ!"
...dude was 16 years old and the sweetest kid I've met in awhile. I feel like a *** for interrupting his date, but it was really nice to talk to another American living here in the north. He seemed thankful I interrupted and took some tension off of him - he had been nervously talking for the last 30 mins while his girlfriend just kind of giggled.
Note to self: no matter how frustrated you get, keep your dang mouth shut and don't interrupt kids' dates. (I thought he was my age!)
