AW I guess..
My parents have decided to move here this summer and I am so happy and excited.
They bought a house last year up in Tampa since the market is crappy and they got a great deal on their dream home so that sometime in the future they could move up here, but it was one of those things like "one day, when we move to Tampa etc. etc"
With the baby coming and my dad's job down in SoFla on shaky ground, they've decided that my mom will start officially looking for a job in Tampa for next school year (she's a kindergarten teacher) and they will move up hopefully in July ish. They are visiting this weekend and my dad is meeting with someone about a potential job as well.
This is basically like my dream come true to have my family all back in the same city and have that support system.

That is so great! I'm sure it will be so great to have your family near you when the little one comes!! What does you dad do? Our office is in St. Pete so alot of times we have clients looking to hire.
It's funny because my parents are in Tampa and are looking to move to S. Fl to be closer to us!

My dad has been a manager of a gambling facility for many years but he wants to get into IT stuff. He does IT there among many other things, and he's trying to get a job doing IT for hills county schools so he can be on the same work schedule as my mom who will hopefully get a job too.
That's so great, Shawna! You must be thrilled! And how great to have that support system with the new baby. That's something I wish I had for sure, although none of my family is exactly up for moving to NYC and I'm not really down for moving back to St. Pete, so alas.
I hope your parents both have an easy time getting jobs and everything falls into place!

Lauren, my brother will be the only one left down there. He lives in the Ft. Lauderdale area, but he has a great job doing what he loves and all of his friends are there, so I'm pretty sure he will never leave unfortunately. It's ok though, with all of us being in the same place I know he will come visit more which will be nice, and he isn't as needy as I am when it comes to having family around.
How wonderful for you. I can not tell you how greatful I am to have our parents live close by, especially now that we have kids.
That's awesome news! While I don't wish my parents and my IL's would move to Texas I do wish we could move to Florida to be closer. We have been away from our parents for almost 10 years now and it's really starting to wear on my since we have Macy. I really, really, really miss having family around.
But congrats! I am so jealous!
