These Fairy Tales products better work!

The end of November there was a case of lice in Teagan's class for the 3rd time in a year, so I ran out and bought the repel shampoo, conditioner, and spray.  We were one of the cases so I know how much it sucks and I do not want to go through that again. Today, they were bagging up everyone's stuff again.  We've continued to use the shampoo and conditioner since then and we only wash her hair every other day.  I'm crossing my fingers that those products really do work.  I foresee them making lots of money off of me in the coming years since I'm guessing elementary school isn't all that much better.

Of course she brought a stuffed animal for show and tell today that will have to get washed and that will lead to tears I'm sure.

  • Ugh - I sooo do not want head lice in our house either!!

My nurse friend says that any product you use will help.  That lice like clean hair so if you wash every other day and/or use products (spray, gel, detangler) that should help.

    Good luck!

Washing them won't kill them anyway. We took away all plush toys, put them in plastic garbage bags and out in the garage for a week. They only need to be away from people for 48-72 hours but we weren't taking chances.

I thought the heat from the hot water and dryer did kill them?  If it doesn't I sure spent a lot of money running the washer/dryer last summer for nothing. We did the bag thing for a lot of stuff too.

my sil uses that product for my niece and she thinks it works.  She also puts her hair up or in braids everyday for school.  Her school has frequent live outbreaks

  • I'm a little freaked out that today the notice is on EVERY classroom door this am where as normally it's only on the room affected. M is overdue for a haircut, so he'll be getting one this weekend for sure!
  • I have some bad news... we have been using fairy tales products for YEARS -- like 5 years... and never had a problem until this week my 8 year old DD came home from school on monday with lice and I'm FREAKING out. the washer has been going almost non stop-- we have done treatments and spend hours each night picking thru her super thick shoulder length hair. its really really is horrible.  I  just waiting for the other kids to get it!

We wash every other night, w/ their products, use the repel spray in stuff.. hair is up, and sprayed with hairspray as well when they go to school, coats are put in backpacks etc.. and we still have lice. UGH.
