I have an awful one. Before we moved we had three cats. Two I gave to my
aunt who doesn't have them anymore, who knows what happened to them.
The third got out one day because that was his only goal in life it
seemed and once, he actually managed to dart out. I went after him, he
ran. He didn't come back. I left food and water out, his bed, nothing. A
week later one of our neighbors (condo) asked us if we had lost our cat
because she knew we had one and that she had taken him in and how sweet
he was. I told her no. He is probably still happy at her place and I
don't feel guilty about it at all.
Re: A dirty lurker's FFFC...
You posted this because . . . ? Did you think we'd say "congratulations"?
What is FFFC?
And that's really sad.

For this board, this is anything but FF.
Just addressing the last scenario, if you didn't intentionally set your cat loose outside, why in holy he|| would you not want him back?!

I am a dog person and am severely allergic to cats, but I would have taken that poor baby in before I ever returned him to you. How could you deny he was yours?!
Sick. I'm sure the cat is much better off without you.

Oh don't worry, I'm sure my kids will try to give me away to the neighbours at least once in their lifetimes.
Oh come on, it's not like I trained them to fight each other. I'm sure they all found lovely homes.
And FWIW, I lurk over here because I replaced my 3 cats with 2 dogs and a goldfish. I'm sure I'll have a question that will pop up eventually.
Umm...you don't "replace" pets. You replace broken or lost objects. You don't get rid of lives you're already responsible for just so you can run out and find your new favorite thing of the moment.

LOL I hope he does too. I can't handle him on top of 2 kids and 3 pets. Maybe he'll get half of them in the divorce...that would be awesome!
I sure hope you all are vegetarians.
hahahahahaha!
You need to calm down.
hahahahahaha! So true!
Mandi's got 99 problems, but a pet ain't one.
I consider it more recycling them than disposing of them.
And now I have the Lion King song stuck in my head.
Um...quote fail.
Actually, a lot of women on this board ARE, myself included. I'd say a higher percentage of pesties are vegetarian than the general population (4% of Americans in general are). The pesties who aren't, I can promise, have at least thoughtfully considered their diets in relation to animals.
And hey, count me in on not knowing how someone can feel good about dumping a member of their family. Trust me, I hand feed and medicate and spend a ton of money on one of my special needs cats at the moment. Is it time consuming, annoying and exhausting? Yes. But I'd do it for the rest of my life if it means I get to spend more time with him, because I love him that much.

Your son's Progeria diagnosis must have really thrown you through a loop

So sorry you're going through it!
