Do people really think it's ok?

To make comments about my eating choices? Does it affect you at all? No? I didn't think so. I do not need a lecture about the amount of salt in a pickle. I do not care. Prefacing it with "not to tell you what to do or anything" does not make me any less inclined to shove that pickle where the sun don't shine.

Re: Do people really think it's ok?

  • I am sure this is only the beginning of people's "suggestions" for your consumption habits and forced opinions.   People think that if someone is pregnant they shouldn't be eating/drinking/smoking/consuming all sorts of silly things that sometimes end up having no effect at all on the spawn.

I'd try to get used to it, people's opinions are more bluntly stated and bombarding for pregant women, from what I have been told.    At least they aren't touching your stomach yet, right?

Oh yes. The administrative assistant touched my belly almost as soon as I told her (7 or so weeks). I have a chubby belly, none of it was baby at that time, only bloat.

Also, I look like I'm way far along right now, due to pre pregnancy fatness and bloat, as well as a tiny bit of baby bump. My mom told me last night, "you know that's not baby, right?"

Yes, mother, I'm aware I look like a beached whale. That was helpful, though.

  • Oh no, pickles are evil!!! :P  It's not like you were eating 4 sticks of butter for a pre-lunch snack (not like anyone should be commenting regardless). People need to chill with their "helpful" advice.

Personally, I would then keep a huge jar of pickles on my desk to annoy this person.

I have never understood why some people think it's acceptable to touch someone else's stomach. WTF. So awkward.

  • So, my conclusion is, whether or not you choose to procreate, people are always preoccupied with your uterus. It's never ending.

  • I'm sorry, that's so annoying. People are so flipping rude.
