Maddox is doing so great. He has been off all O2 since saturday morning and went in an open air crib today. He is eating from a bottle but only taking about .5oz at a time. He is a lazy eater. Eating and maintaining his body temp outside of the incubator burns lots of calories(I wish it were that easy for adults..haha) and he still managed to gain 2+ oz in the past 24 hours. They measured it in grams and were very impressed with that gain.
The nurse he had today thinks he will be home within a week. I am not gonna set my heart on next tuesday but it was nice to hear that rather than the nicu's typical answer of "his due date"...ugh. That is still 5 weeks away.
We are so proud of him! I can't even describe the feeling of going in there and seeing him make these improvements, I have never been this proud of anything in my life. He is doing so great and I am soooooo in love.
Re: Say hello to my little friend.....
Ok...I have no idea what happened there
Ok, I suck at PIP...

He is super cute When he gets out its cold and flu season so they will probably want him to get syangisis shots (so preemies dont get RSV)...we went to a freaking awesome doctor (If they recommend those and you need one!)
Its awesome how well he is doing. Any indication on how long he will be in the NICU?
*are you home yet yourself??
Yes...I got home Friday. It has been alot going back and fourth. I am supposed to be resting but it helps to stay busy....When I am trying to rest, I start missing him and then next thing you know I am crying wishing he was home with me.
I had put in the OP(before the pasted picture covered half the post..ugh) That his nurse today thinks he should be home within a week. I am not gonna set my heart on next tuesday but I liked that answer alot more than the typical nicu answer of "your due date." At least she put a little end in sight. My due date is still 5 weeks away.
Yeah, its awesome to get a nice nurse! Well to "inspire" you- my litle guy wasnt as early but his lungs were horrible b/c i didnt get the drugs--- he was born blue. His due date was like 4 weeks away and he left 1 week later- so we definitely did not stay til his due date.
I understand about being home. I had another little guy so it was super hard to divide my time, I spent most of the time at the hospital. It looks like he is controling his temp? since he has clothes on?
What a cutie. He has so much hair already. Thanks for sharing pictures.
Awwww! I can't wait to see him Saturday!
Debi, he is adorable! So glad to hear you are home and I'll be praying that little Maddox will join you there very very soon.
