Re: Spin-off of Friday the 13th
What superstitions do you believe in? None specifically, but I do tend to throw salt over my shoulder when it spills. And I've noticed that the skin around my wedding ring finger gets really irritated before I have a fight wit my DH. Probably all in my head, but it always freaks me out.
Which one's do you think are total BS? Most of them, honestly. I've stepped under plenty of ladders and crossed many a black cat without incident. It does, however, give me the willies to witness these things though.
Have you ever had a bad luck/good luck experience on Friday the 13th past? I remember one year as a teenager, I almost got hit by the bus as I was walking across the school parking lot on a Friday, the 13th. Yikes!
I don't believe in any superstitions, YET I find myself cringing when people walk under ladders, open umbrellas indoors, break mirrors, etc. I guess those things are still somewhat ingrained in my head.
Funny story: When I was a little kid, my grandmother told me not to lick my plate clean because it would make it rain on my wedding. I always thought that was hilarious, until we set a November wedding date and I worried our whole engagement that it would rain... It didn't though -- 75 degrees and sunny.
I am superstitious...I always put my left shoe on before my right....many of my superstitions have developed into habits so I don't even remember I am doing them.
I LOVE the number 13...but that is because I was born on the 13th and my wedding anniversary is the 13th. My grandfather and I have the same birthdate and the list actually goes on from there but it is a good day for me. My grand father was actually born on friday the 13th.
I throw salt over my shoulder, I dont walk under ladders....that kind of silly stuff. I figure...it really doesnt harm me to do them and if they are true then cool, if not...its fun to participate.
I dunno if any are BS or not...I just like to do it.
