I thought it was kind of funny to think back on where we were at in February 2008. DH and I were no where near ready to be getting married at that point - we had only been dating for about 5 months. Our relationship was long distance at the time because I was at a university 3 hours away.
I remember back around that time I was just getting over a pretty horrible case of mono too and having a really hard time being so far away from home. DH came up on Valentine's Day to surprise me and stayed in our dorm for a long weekend. It was the first Valentine's Day I actually got to celebrate with a boyfriend and I was so excited, haha.
What were you doing back then?
Re: Back in Feb 2008...
I was a junior in college, in the hardest year of all of them. I was starting my observation hours, and carrying a huge course-load. It was the last semester H and I were in school together, even though I had one more year left. We had been together for 6 years at that point.
I was the president of my fraternity, and preparing for my junior recital in May of that year.
Good idea, Sam
I was still dating 'definitely not the one.' They always say that right before you meet 'the one' you date someone who is DEFINITELY NOT THE ONE. Well, at this point I was becoming less and less interested in him, and focusing more on the fact that I only had a short amount of time left with my best friends before we all graduated.
I think at this point Rocky and I had met, we were in the middle of winter term, and of our one and only class that we had together. I was completely oblivious to the fact that he thought I was cute and/or was interested.
We'll end up hand in hand

Wow. Thinking back to Feb. 2008 . . .

DH and I were dating. And had been for about 7 months. I think at that time, I was still in the giddy stage of the relationship. Laughing and talking all the time. We were both still in school. He had just graduated with his Bachelors and was starting on his Masters. I was in my last semester of my Bachelors. And by that time was burnt out on school. I was working as a Student Assistant in a research lab and he was a GRA. We definitely weren't ready to get married yet.

DH and I were dating for a few years at this point, I think 3 or 4 but I am horrible on dates. I was living in my parents guest house, he was living with his parents. In Feb/March he started working for the company he works for now.
We talked a lot about getting married then, but we decided the next step in our relationship would be buying a house. we spent a lot of 2008 looking at houses and getting paperwork together for our pre-approval. The end of 2008, actually the last week, we found our house and it was, and still is perfect.
In Feb 2008, H and I had been dating for almost 4 years. I was in the spring semester of my first teaching job. It was just months before I officially made the decision to resign at the end of the year (I was probably going to lose my job anyway to budget cuts) and move to IA to be with Jake.
At that point, I thought that we were ready for marriage and had thought that he may be close to proposing. I'm glad though that we at waited until we'd lived together for a couple years and well-lived in the same zip code, before deciding to get engaged. Plus, if he'd proposed then, I would have never gotten to meet all of you lovely ladies!

Oh man, I am so young compared to all of you!
In February of 2008 I was just finishing up High School. I only had to go from noon until 3 so that was amazing. It turns out that later on I would find out that I went to school with all of my husband's bandmates! I also went to Chicago for a concert the following month, in the middle of the ghetto! It was a frightening experience, but totally awesome.
In April I went to the same concert as my H, and now that I recall all the facts my friend had pointed out H's friend and so we were basically staring at my future husband all night long haha. Later on in April I got to see my all time favorite band play in a very tiny music store, they did an acoustic set and basically no one knew about it so there were only about 20 people there, it was so intimate and amazing! Then we talked to them and went to their actual concert later that night. We kept running into the band members at the concert it was hilarious, we had such a great night.
I met my husband in October at a concert, but this was after actually seeing his band play sometime in August (when I had turned 18). There is actually a picture of him singing in my face before we actually officially met. We officially met on October 11th but wouldn't start dating until the 16th. The weekend I met H I went to a concert with other friends and we actually ended up playing basketball with a bunch of famous musicians. So basically it was the best weekend of my life!
Man I miss going to that many concerts, but I guess we have to grow up at some point! haha

I know exactly was I was doing in Feb 2008 especially on feb 7th and 8th 2008. I was in labor with my youngest son. I was also fighting with my ex about his name. I wanted him to be Maddox Isiah and have my last name and my ex wanted him to be his junior. Yeah.... well he won. He wrote it on the papers and had me groggily sign it after i had just given birth.
I didnt meet my hubby for 18 months after that.

Aww, I like this. Kind of. My story isn't as happy as most of yours. In Feb. 2008 I was engaged to my ex. On the 12th my friend was beat to death by her husband and on the 17th (her funeral) my fiance cheated on me with some little 17 year old because I was acting "too sad". It was not the greatest of months.
I did, however, start dating Matt a couple months later so there's that...
