Birthday present for a dude?
We're planning to have dinner with dh's friend and his new girlfriend tonight. Via Facebook I just found out it's his birthday today (dh never pays attention to these things). I'd like to get him a little something to give at dinner, but I have no clue what. He's a car guy and computer dude, but those are way specialized interests. Is there something edible that a dude would like? I want it to be small because the guys don't normally exchange gifts and who knows if the new girlfriend is doing anything.

Wow, that's tough... Shopping for guys is hard in general, I feel like. Much more so for a guy you don't know well. And it seems like people with those interests - cars and computers - like very specific, technical things that most of us would not have any idea about...
If you guys are going out to dinner, could you and DH treat them for his birthday or would that be too expensive? I was thinking maybe tickets to a car show, but the big ones are in the Bay Area/Sac/LA which is kind of far, and they're not till next fall... Do you know what kind of food he likes, or whether he's into beer or wine?
