Hello ladies --
I'm working on knitting some mittens and I'm a little confused as to what the directions say to do next. The pattern says(the underlined part is what I don't understand):
" With RS facing, return sts from holder to larger needle. Join yarn and knit across"
What do they mean by join yarn?
If it helps, this part of the pattern is for the thumb..
Thanks!!

Re: Knitting Question
Do you seam the thumb up after?
There are two ways of looking at that line, depending on if you are knitting it flat or in the round.
If flat, it just means to start knitting, because you put the stitches on a holder and kept knitting there isn't a strand of yarn there to knit from, does that make sense??
