Need advise from the vets out there. Tia

Hi. My mini schnauzer got back from the groomers a couple of days ago and she has been licking her front leg pretty regularly since then. Her skin is now turning dark and the hair is matted. I also noticed that where she is licking is white with no hair and is a little "sticky" to the touch. Do you think that the Groomer left the hairdryer on that spot for too long and gave her a burn? or is it just a Hotspot. There are no blisters or bleeding. I know I should call the vet and will Monday but inbthe meantime is there anything I can put on it now.

  • I might try to clean it up and put a clean sock on that foot to keep her from licking it.

  • Not a vet, but I agree wit pp. I would apply some neosporin and cover it with a sock or vetwrap. I have to use vetwrap on our guy because his legs are so skinny that I can't get a sock to stay on - he pulls them off. I also do it right before he goes to bed so that if he does mess with the wrap in the morning, at least it was on all night.
