I am trying to be a really good case for my iPhone - to protect it from my slobbering baby. I have been reading about the
Otterbox and am wondering if this is my best option. I am leaning toward the defender but I don't really understand the differences between them - commuter etc. Any recommendations? Thanks.
Re: Otterbox for iPhone?
I just got a cover for my iPhone, and was also leaning toward Otterbox because that's what my brother has and he loves it.
But then a friend of mine said that her Otterbox actually started falling apart at the bottom, somehow. And the employee at the AT&T store said that just about everyone in the store that had the iPhone had a Speck case, so I ended up going with that.
If you go to OtterBox's website it'll explain to you the differences.
I tried out the Speck case but returned it after 1 day.
1. My case has so many scratches within 24 hours it was crazy.
2. The front face of the case on it's edges, it picked up dirt. Then, when you try to wipe away the dirt it's like a grey smudge and it's rather nasty.
I paid full price for my Otter Box Defender and I had been skeptical of it, but then I realized it is truly a great phone case and will protect your phone against most physical damage.
However, my 4 year old just broke the silicone by stretching it out with his bare hands. I didn't want to spend $50 again, so I got a generic replica off ebay for $7
I haven't received it yet , so nothing to report yet
I have the Commuter series one:
And I am really happy with it. I got it at Radio Shack for $35. It is the third case I have had on my iPhone 4, and it's definitely a keeper! I have dropped it a couple of times, and it has done a great job of protecting the phone, and it's not as bulky as the Defender. I also liked that the screen covering was really easy to put on without getting bubbles under it.
I also have this case and love it. It's held up to my cat dropping it off the nightstand every night. And a drop or two on the concrete.
I have the otterbox with the screen protector built in (defender maybe) and previously had speck cases. While I like the look and style of speck cases they never offered protection and often fell apart.
I love my otterbox and they have come a long way and aren't as bulky as they once were.
I have the iPhone 4s if it matters.
