UPDATE:I can not figure this night time diaper thing out.

UPDATE: Well, his bed & jammies were dry this morning. One more drop of pee though and that diaper would have exploded, lol. I'll have to see if the FP one's come in a bigger size. FINGERS CROSSED they do. I'm gonna try again tonight and see what happens since I have 1 of those diapers left. And while I'm at BRU/TRU picking up the diapers I'll get some diaper doublers so I can use up the pull-ups we have.

This poor kid wakes up soaked every single morning. I've tried Night Time Pull-Ups, last night I tried Good Nights and he still woke up soaked. Tonight I went old school with one of the Fisher Price night time diapers. He was so upset but I explained to him that mommy & daddy know he's a big boy but we want him to be comfortable and not wake up wet. I have no idea what to do after this if it doesn't work.

We have had this problem since he was like 8 months old. He pisses like a race hoarse all night long. It took forever to find a night time diaper that worked - Fisher Price and they worked for a while but now that he's in underwear he doesn't want to use a diaper at all. I can get him in the pull-ups by saying they are nighttime underwear but who cares if they're not working. I feel so bad for him. But more than that I'm tired of washing sheets every day.

Sigh.

  • Ugg Have you tried doing a dream pee when you are going to bed?

  • what about adult pee doublers- in the pull up- the good nights- do not hold a lot at all and neither do night pull ups- they are really for kids who have accidents not who are not dry at night yet- which is ok- Kieran was this way for a long time-

but I would do diapers or the doublers- and just tell him that lots of big boys need something to help them stay dry at night, but to try to wake up to go pee pee-

  • I don't think the dream pee is going to work. I think he's peeing more close to the morning time. And more importantly, I'm scared out of my mind that he's not going to go back to sleep or want to get in bed with us or want one of us to stay with him. He doesn't do well with being woken up like that and I don't want to F with what has been to date an amazing sleeper. He'll wake up at like 7am and go pee but by then he's already wet.

    Kristen...what kind did you use?

  • I have been putting a incontinance pad inside my sons regular size 7 pampers in the purple box diaper.   the pad works really good 4 or 5 nights a week. sometimes it does leak.  the dream pee worked with my older son. he never really woke up you just sort of shuffle thme in batrhroom with all the lights off, whisper go pee pee and then he would pee and go back to sleep. if you empty his bladder around 11 or whenever you go to bed, there will be less pee for him to pee out at 5am.
  • I would try it.  i was terrified to put Sammie in the room with him because she didn't and still doesn't sleep through the night.  She cries every night in the middle of the night for 5 to 10 minutes and never wakes him.  So you never know.

  • Have you tried the Target brand pull-ups?  To be fair, I have NOT tried them, lol - but the regular Target brand diapers are the ONLY ones that Danny has never (or very, very rarely) peed out of.
