Update on my new nephew

Just wanted to give you all an update on my new nephew, Evan, who was born this past Thursday evening.  He was born with small hole in his lungs so he was having  a lot of trouble breathing.  Only mommy had the chance to hold him before they  had to put him in an incubator and was on oxygen.  Poor daddy wasn't able to hold him!  Mommy was discharged from the hospital last night and she said it was the hardest thing to do, to leave without her baby!  

 Luckily, they were able to take him off oxygen and he is breathing on his own, and daddy finally got to hold him.  The hole is closing up and should be able to go home in a couple days!

 Oh, I completely forgot to mention that he came so fast (about 3 hours in the hospital) that she had to do it au natural!!  Amazing!  So much for that epidural she was planning on having, haha!   

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers!!  David and I will be visiting them on our way down to graduate interviews/auditions early next month and I can't wait to get my hands on little Evan!

So glad that baby Evan is doing well, and that his hole is going to close on it's own!!  Jealous that you'll be able to hold such a teeny tiny baby!!

I'm so glad to hear he's doing better! I can't imagine how hard that is to go through, after the process of giving birth which is hard enough. Keep us posted!!

Yay! I'm so happy that he's improving! I bet you're excited to meet little Evan!

 I was born with a hole in my heart, but it cleared up on it's own in a few days. I know my mom was terrified since the doctors knew what was wrong and kind of left her out of the loop.

I'm glad to hear that Evan is getting better everyday.  I'm sure he'll be home with his family in no time!  Your sister is a trooper for managing natural childbirth--the thought of it scares me to death.
