baby gear question....

do i really need a double stroller?  K is going to be 2.5 when LO is born, and the only time she is ever in an umbrella stroller is when we are traveling - airports, zoos, etc.  And 95% of the time, I'm not by myself so two strollers if needed wouldnt be a big deal.  What do you think?

Re: baby gear question....

  • Eh, I'd wait. I got the Chicco double. It's nice, but I've only used it a handful of times. I also got a free sit and stand and like it much better b/c it's easier to handle.  Sam was 2.5 when John was born and she isn't the type to be in a stroller for too long. Maybe wait and see if you really need one after the baby is born.

  • I was going to say, it depends on K...

is she fairly into walking around places now , or do you forsee taking them out often on your own?

Mine were much closer in age so a double stroller was a requirement for us, bc Connor was only 13 mos....

  • A will be 26 months when the new baby arrives and i've been debating this too. i'm going to get one because i usually have the kids by myself and i also do a lot of walking when the weathers nice so i think i'll get a lot of use out of it.

  • What about those little scooter boards on the back of the stroller or a sit and stand?

  • I did because J was 15 months old and I am out A LOT by myself. For my stroller, depending on how J is, eventually I can get the board that goes off the back if he doesn't want to sit.  Though I will say he LOVES his seat in the stroller now, because its not as restricting and he pulls his snack tray closed himself.

They do have clips to connect 2 umbrella strollers together which could be a cheaper alternative for you.

I am a stroller junkie.  We have 4 umbrellas, 2 chicco travel system strollers, MIL has one and then my BabyJogger.

  • we got one and DD will be 2 months shy of 3 when the baby comes.  she is way too much of a busy body when we are out to just hold my hand or hold onto the stroller, when i tell her.  we got the stand attachment but im skeptical of her even using this.  anyways, aside from stores we spend a lot of time outdoors so im sure it will be well used.
