Sunday baking/cooking/eating

Did you make anything this weekend? Eat anything fabulous. As always, share a recipe if you have a home run.

  • I baked blueberry muffins this morning for breakfast. I made a dozen and there's one left. In our defense, we haven't ate much else today. I might make them again tomorrow morning since we'll both be home.
  • I haven't been able to bake in soooo loooong! :( Tonight I think I am going to use my ice cream maker and make some vanilla ice cream to take to Bible Study. I might take some toppings too and have a mini sundae bar or something.

  • I made these lemon crinkle cookies and they're quite good. I think I'm going to have to hide them in the freezer.

  • I barely cooked anything this weekend since DH wasn't home... But after I picked him up at the airport, we went to one of our favorite restaurants in Berkeley and I got some yummy Mexican breakfast. Trying to figure out what to make for dinner now...
  • I thought I would do some baking/cooking this weekend but I did not. Tomorrow I may do some as it is grocery shopping day too!

    I did bake DH's birthday cake-homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. YUM!

  • So I made this bok choy recipe as a side dish tonight and it's really good! I added carrots that I needed to use up, and used crushed red pepper instead of white because I didn't have any and we like things a little spicy. Very yummy.
  • Friday I bake brownies and popover pizzas for myself because I was celebrating my coirker getting fired( not nice I know but my life will be much less stressful now!)

    Yesterday I didn't make anything. We had leftovers for lunch and went out to dinner at Elephant Bar.

    Tonight for dinner I made chicken fried steak, sweet potato mashed potatoes, and asparagus. It was delicious and my gravy turned out which is rare for me and it was tasty too!

    I baked these as well No Sugar Oat Drops . They are okay. I think if my bananas had been riper they would have been better.

    I'm bookmarking this recipe, we have tons of lemons right now and I'm always looking for ways to use them.

    I made banana bread today using this recipe from Laurel's Kitchen. It turned out really yummy! It calls for a bit of lemon juice, which I thought added a nice brightness. I added an egg, some vanilla, a grated apple and some chopped dates.

    Fyi, the recipe takes a half cup of butter. I'm not sure why there's that extra s in there, but I checked the recipe on another blog just to be sure.

  • I made a Korean seafood pancake from scratch. It was my 2nd try, but I still can't make it taste the way I want it to. I guess I'll have to try another recipe for it.
