If YC is into video games --
Just curious to see what everyone does as far as time limits. Ryan loves Mario Kart on Wii and my niece gave him her DSI (handheld) this weekend. Now he has Mario Kart for that too and he is OBSESSED. I mean, completely obsessed.
I am sure that this will get better once it's not brand new anymore, and also once the weather is better so he can go outside - but oh my goodness, it's all he EVER wants to do.
What limits did you put on your child's game time when they first really got into it? He would play 24/7 if he could. He is 5 if that matters.

Re: If YC is into video games --
We use poker chips as "tokens." He gets a set number each day (more on the weekends) and each token=20 minutes of screen time - either my iphone, or a show/movie, the wii, etc.
He can earn more by helping out around the house, and he gets them taken away for not listening.
(We use poker chips just because we had them around - you can use anything - pennies, cotton balls, scraps of paper, whatever.)

This is how Ryan is - he talks about Mario Kart nonstop. I think he is going to have to be limited a lot more than he is right now. MH and I are waiting a bit until the "newness" of it wears off to see how things go. After a few more weeks we might have to do something similar.
