WV pediatrician recs

Can't believe I'm already to this point, but my OB wants to know which ped. we're going to use soon.  I have no clue!  They say to go do a "meet the Dr." night, but I'm wondering if anyone here uses someone in the WV, preferably a Banner doc, or knows someone to stay away from so we don't waste our time.  The OB nurse mentioned a Dr. Matthew Bennett @ Estrella Pediatrics & a Dr. Lisa Ring @ Desert Valley Pediatrics, but I haven't heard anything else about either one.  TIA

We go to Desert Valley Pediatrics up here in Surprise. While I absolutely LOVE my doctor (Dr. Serino), the NP who is the go to lady if you need to be seen that day is HORRIBLE.  I don't know if they all go between offices or not but I would not reccomend an office that she is at. I had to wait for a LONG time to see her (like 45 minutes after my appt time, and I was the first appt after lunch.. go figure)..

Which Desert Valley Pediatric is Dr. Ring in? I guess I could go look online, haha! Dr. Gosnell is really sweet too and I think she goes between 2 offices.. )

Thanks Jess, from what I was told Dr. Ring is at the WV office at 108th & Indian School. The website doesn't make it clear though as to which doc is at which office.  That Colleen doesn't look very nice.  So u don't have the same doc every time then?  Do they switch it up so u get to know diff ones?  I don't like that.  If i find a doc & like him/her, i want to stay w/him/her.

They don't really switch. When I am making an appointment ahead of time or if i can wait a day or two, I can request that he see Dr. Serino. But if it's a sick visit, they can't always get me in with him so they shuffle me off to whoever has an open spot. I totally don't mind being put with someone else if it's something that can't wait. But his yearly well check appt, and when he had them more often then that I always just say I want to set his appt with Dr. Serino...

Ok that makes sense.  I'd be alright w/that too, if we just had to get her seen right away.  Now I'm curious as to who is at which office or if they have certain days at certain offices, cuz my OB place does that.  They go b/w offices.

Youll want to find an office with at least 2 docs you like- for back up.  Our regular Pedi is who we see 95% of the time- but our office is open 7 days a week and he works Saturdays and some Sundays, so some week days we have to see a different pedi.  So we have her main doc and then a back up we love just as much.

We go to Surprise Pediatrics and we LOVE it there, our reg Dr is Dr. Pham and he is great at explaining things to us and answering our questions.  He is also very supportive of our choices which I like.  We haven't seen the other dr yet, her name is Dr. Marcelo but I have heard nothing but great things about her. I know this office is a little far for you but like pp have said it is important to find a dr & a back dr that you LOVE.  and being able to get a hold of them on the weekends is key.  Our officr isn't open on the weekends but they are on call and we have called once on a Saturday and hear back fairly quickly with that to do.
