Hello!

I know some people are still out for the holiday.  For those who are around, how was your weekend?

I went to my hometown.  I wasn't thrilled about driving there for a baby shower, but I actually had fun.

I also got together with a bunch of my friends Saturday and Sunday night.  I talk to my friends on the phone and online often, but it was so nice to see them in person and hang out.  Now I feel like a sociable human again!  lol

Re: Hello!

  • LOL! You are too much!

Well, I went back to my hometown as well and did mom's second memorial service. I realized that I can not be around that family of mine.

Baby showers seem to suck for us BNOTB'ers with no spawn. There were no awkward discussions were there?

  • Hey pretty lady!

I had a good, accomplished weekend. (Minus the mice problem, but that was today not yesterday)

Sounds like you had a good time, I bet it feels great to hang out with them in person compared to online/texts.

  • Mine was a mixed bag.

Friday was okay, I saw some good friends I haven't seen in quite a while and had fun at a pub for a little while.

Saturday I found out the H gave away Rockets tickets he got for free and was kinda annoyed by that, since I would have liked to go.  Instead, we ended up chilling at my besties house in the evening and watching football.

Sunday sucked because the Texans lost, plus I started feeling a little discomfort that is kind of like cramping, but it's definetly not period cramping.  It's still there today and I didn't sleep well at all last night.  I'm hoping a muscle relaxer after work will do the trick, I have no idea where it came from but it's keeping me from being too active.

Actually yes!  People are officially starting to ask about plans for my uterus.  So far not too many people have been rude about it though, so it's all good.

Other than that, the ony awkward conversations in my presence were about butt paste, lactation, and nipple cream.  Pregnancy and babies sound scary...

I'm sorry to hear that you're having family issues.  I hope everything with your mom's memorial service went ok.  I've been thinking of you often.

  • Hey, Stellar!  :)  Glad you had a good weekend!

Erin, I'm sorry the past few days haven't been great for you.  I would be annoyed by my H if he did that also.  I hope your cramping isn't anything serious.  Have you ever had ovarian cysts?  I hope you start feeling better soon.

It was heartfelt. I do miss my mom already because she was my go-to for everything I wanted to talk about. She was totally my rock. Thanks for the thoughts love, they were felt!

Well, at the memorial I had all my family talking about one thing. . . BABIES! They figured it would be special if DH and I tried to have a baby now. Grrrrrrr!

I just hope those crazy people did not curse me.Angry

I have never had one before, but both my mom and sister have.  I'm starting to think that might be it, I was hoping it would just go away within a few days so I don't have to go to the Dr.
Thanks for the well wishes, though!

  • Jade, I completely understand.  :(  Although I was young when I lost my mom, I was devastated and a mother-daughter bond is just like no other.  I hope you can take comfort knowing that she lived a great life and felt loved spending her last days with you.

Erin, I had one last year and it hurt SO bad but luckily it went away on its own.  Hopefully yours will do the same!

  • My weekend opened my eyes. We donated unused stuff (air hockey table, indoor basketball hoop, clothes, etc.) to a shelter that takes in abused and abandoned kids (some of them show up in one outfit and that's all they have..CPS picks them up from the home and send them to this house). It felt great seeing the faces of these kids who have nothing. I felt a sense of accomplishment and it made me realize that I could help kids like this some day..somehow. So I looked into jobs for CPS and there are a LOT of openings in the San Antonio/Austin area. I cannot wait for graduation now.

Sunday rocked because my Giants wonnnn

  • I'm glad you had a good weekend!

Saturday we ended up at a sports bar with bff to watch the Saints game then H and I came home for the Pats game.

I was lazy yesterday and lounged around the house. I'm off today, but I got some work done so I wouldn't stress about it.

  • I just realized Ala already started a weekend thread.  :::smacks self:::

  • Skipping, that's awesome.  I used to work in a psychiatric facility for children and many had been abused.  It was sad and stessful but like you said, eye opening.

Megamuff, sounds like a good weekend!  I'm going to be lazy tonight. :)

  • I moved all the way out this weekend, and have gotten settled into my mom's house. Still adjusting, still feeling crappy, but it'll get easier. I did decide this weekend though that I need some stuff to do and to get out of the house. So besides starting a new rock gym membership, I think I'm also going to volunteer at the animal shelter, and maybe look into classes... dance, cooking, etc. I'm a little excited.

I also got egg pancakes and homemade old-fashioned buttermilk syrup on Sunday morning because my stepbrother was leaving. That was a definite plus to my weekend. :)

  • Hey, Lex!  I'm sure the moving sucked, but I think it's a big step in the right direction and I admire you for standing up for yourself.  I hope things continue to get better and easier for you.  I think it's a good idea to pick up hobbies and stay busy...I really need to find things to do with my time also.  I'm becoming way too lazy, lol.
