Another Update on DH

We contacted the doctor's office that the ER referred us to. They wouldn't accept us w/o insurance. So we're trying to figure out what to do from here. As of right now, the sore is looking better but we've been here before. DH is eating a lot of protein and staying in the Clinitron. Thanks for all your T & P!

Doesn't he get MediCal or something along those lines? That's ridiculous. So what, if it doesn't get better you wait til it's emergency room/hospital worthy? Glad it's looking better at least.

He's got Medicare part B which covers hospitalization. He's been trying to apply for part A as well but it hasn't gone through. We also are trying to get Medical for being low income. No, we can't wait for it to get worse. He needs to see someone who will take cash payment.

God bless America, where people with potentially life-threatening issues can't get medical care! Arg, that pisses me off. I hope you guys can find an answer soon. I'll be thinking of you.

I know, isn't it marvelous? Even better than when our insurance no longer provided home nurse visits after he had surgery for this same thing and so I had to be the nurse. Nevermind that I'm not a trained nurse and some of the stuff was quite complicated but I also couldn't work because I had to change dressings every couple of hours. So income coming in, not so much. I applied to get paid by the county for my services and was denied.

Gosh, the system is messed up. I'm sorry you have to face all those difficulties. I'm glad to hear the sore is better, though.

I'm also glad to hear his sore is improving. I'm so frustrated for you and D. We have such a messed up medical system.

This makes me so mad. I really hope something works and he can get the care he needs. Glad it's seeming better.

I am sorry to hear this.  I hope your DH recovers soon.  I wish he could get the help he needed without such stress and worry.

Augh, that is so frustrating Hannah!  I agree with pp's that the system is screwing you and D.  So srry, but at least the sore is looking ok for now.  Please keep us updated, you both are in my thoughts!
