WWYD in this Macy's situation?

On Saturday, I went to order M's new bedding.  I tried the first time, got to the part where you put in your CC#, put it in, and it said that there was something wrong.  Went back, and reentered it, thinking I wrote somethign wrong, same thing.  I tried once more, and again, same problem.  Went to get my other credit card, used that, and it went through fine.  Recieved an email confirmation of that last attempt, that it went through. Checked my bank account today and there are five pending transactions for the amount on my card, for a total of over $500.  Called Macys and they only have record of the one going through, and told me to wait and see if the pending charges drop off (said it will take a few days) and if not, then they'll address it since they only have record of one transaction.  So now, that money is being held in my account, which will prevent things from being withdrawn I'm guessing if I need that $500 to cover it.  If I get charged overdraft fees for other bills, I'm going to be irate.  Anyone know enough about the bank to know if this might happen or not?? Do you think I should call someone other than customer service about this issue?

I'd call your bank and tell them the situation and see if they can do anything on their end...

that SUCKS.  I had something similar happen when buying FBB tickets... it wasn't going through so i went and got tickets elsewhere... then the first one went through - so i had 2 sets, and an insane amount of money gone from my account... and i had to wait 2 weeks to get the tickets before i could sell the other set. Total PITA.

I would call your bank and find out what their policy is- and then contact macys and see if they can send your bank a letter saying the items were not purchased with that card- I would also try to talk to someone higher up in mace's but they should be able to help you in some way, but while it is pending I think they pay the cleared transactions first-

ugh this sucks! This happened to me with BOA and they told me that they were not able to do anything because the transactions were pending they were not actually paid.  They told me that we could file a complaint if the transactions went through.  The transactions never went through so it wasn't an issue but they will be pending until Macy's releases them.

you have to wait until it actually posts to your account for the bank to be able to do anything.

Yes, had it happen with Macy's but in the store, but my charge was only $16.  It took almost 5 days from it to finally "drop off."  I called PNC, they said there was nothing they could do, I just had to wait.
