Has anyone been to Smugglers Notch in VT?
We are going for our very first family ski trip ever. None of us has ever been skiing so it should be an adventure.
Just curious though - is there an area at the resort that is nicer than others? And any other tips/thoughts would be great.
Re: Has anyone been to Smugglers Notch in VT?
I am completely a lurker here but my family has a timeshare at Smuggs that we've had for over 20 years. We own in the summer but have been there twice in the winter. Feel free to PM me with specific questions!
We like to stay in the village area in the winter so we are close to the stores and activities. We own in the Evergreen building which is at the base of the mountain by a ski lift. Lessons start from the village as well so it would be more convenient for lessons. I don't know if you have kids or how old they are but the fun zone is in the village as well. There are shuttle buses to get you around if you stay further up the mountain.
We loved the snowshoeing and snowmobiling. We did both at night. And now they have a zipline which we did over the summer and can't wait to do in the winter! Like I said PM me with questions!
ETA: we love Smuggs and you will have a great time regardless of what building you're in!! And to add more info...
Its terrific for a family to learn and there is plenty to do up there. I went as a child and about half our neighborhood goes up at least twice a winter. Most have been going for years.
Thanks! This is good info to know - I was thinking that staying close to the village would be best to walk to things. Also, I'm nervous bc we all need to learn, so thanks Kelly. I'm calling today so of I have specifics I'll reach out.
