Imaging stuff is fairly new to me at work so they took me on a tour at the hospital this morning so I can get a better understanding for it. I got to see MRI, diagnostic stuff, CT, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound. Some of that stuff is so cool.
One of the techs showed me an image she had just taken of someone's brain (I think) but she was showing me how you can peel away layers. She showed me his face with some skin on it and then she slid a bar on the computer and it started fading away until we got to muscle, then bone, then the brain. It was kind of awesome. I also got to peek in some of the radiologist reading rooms but I had no earthly idea what they were looking at on their screens.
It made me think of you. You probably get to see all kinds of interesting things!

Fun! I think it's all pretty cool.
That whole peeling back the face thing is something I have never heard of though. That sounds pretty cool. Was it in CT?
It was CT. Peeling back was probably a bad description lol. It was more like it faded the skin and bone away to show the organ.
I think they have certain pediatric days in MRI and today was one of them. They had a little girl that they were taking a look at when we came in. The tech that was doing it was talking about how much she loved what she did.
