Water filter (Britta, etc) recommendations

I don't know if this is the right board, but here it goes.  I calculated last night that we spend at least $150 on bottled water each year, so I'm thinking it might be cheaper to buy a water filtration system like a Britta.  Any recommendations?  DH drinks A LOT of water and we're looking to save some money.  TIA!

Re: Water filter (Britta, etc) recommendations

  • Our new house has a full home sediment filter so we don't use these anymore but we used them all the time at our old apartment.

I tried the Britta on tap filter and if it was tapped the wrong way it would fall off and water would spray everywhere.  It also never fit tightly and would leak.  We got the Pur snap on filter on clearance and it was a million times better.

We also had the Britta pitcher in the fridge so that we always had cold water.
