Including all of you! Thanks for all of your responses and support, they truly helped so much today.
I sent out a flurry of emails to quite a few contacts DH and I have worked with in the past asking for them to keep their eyes and ears open to any positions for either of us and said only that DH had been laid off. No explanation, and as badly as I wanted to throw my boss under the bus, I kept it very vague.
The responses I've received back are amazing. It doesn't look like the boss is going to come out of this looking very good. Apparently letting someone go without notice two weeks after a baby really gets people riled up. I managed to get quite the group of people really upset with him with my email. I'm secretly quite pleased with myself. I'm also taken back by the jobs that just came out of the woodwork for DH.
We will come out on top of this and I know deep down it is a blessing for us, we just won't really know it until we're on the other side.

So glad to hear this! Here's hoping those leads turn into a job soon!
FWIW- no post partum mom should ever have to deal with this and anyone with half a brain would surely agree!

PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.
I'm sure folks will be able to come to their own (correct) conclusions w/o you having to spell it out, sounds like that guy is a real asshat/douche.
Keep up the networking, things WILL work out and you'll be laughing about this soon!

I'm so glad you have some helpful and supportive contacts! I delicately threw my old boss under the bus (and continue to from time to time when I talk about how I was first "stolen" from my stable job at a stable agency and then laid off 10 days after DD was born) and got lots of support but no job offers... I'm jealous ; )
GL, I'm sure it will work out well for you all in the end! Stay positive!!
