I know I don't post often, but my daughter is doing a HUGE family tree project for school and the further back you go, the more "points" you get. We have a large family and we have it traced back 10 generations to my great.(x7) grandfather who was born in 1648. This includes all wives and starting at my Great Great Grandfather, all families (wives, children, grandchildren..etc) included in the circle. So like I said, we need a LOT of leaves. Hence why we prefer not to have to cut them all out.
So, any ideas on where I can buy leaves?? Or I have a freind with a cricut and I know if I bought the paper, I could go use hers. Do they have a template for that? I would assume they do.
Thanks for any help!! We have a "tree" all cut out and the board decorated, now just to fill it all in. And for empty spaces that look too plain due to all the leaves, we have family pictures printed and ship manifests listing my Great Grandpa's name for when he came to America. Tons of stuff like that.
Re: I need leaves...got any ideas?
I entered "paper leaves" into Etsy.com and bunch of options come up. The Cricut likely has a leaf template, but your friend may not have that cartridge.

Thank you SO much for your tips! What we planned on doing was each "branch" is one generation and start on the bottom and work our way to the top where she would be. So each branch will have a name, then in the leaves it would have who they married with maiden names and kids listed along with birth years. Then go up another branch and just put in from the generation before the one that is directly in our family line.
So I could even do different colored leaves for each aspect of family (wives, children, childrens wives, childrens kids...etc)
This is quite the project! she is having so much fun with it though finding out where some of her cousins come into the picture! But this time I think I will stick with paper leaves! Thanks for the offer of the real ones though!
We have no snow up here yet either but it's freaking cold today!! 21 below with wind chill. yuck!! Even in a Extreme Cold Warning for today and tomorrow. If what they say is correct, we will be 38 below in the morning without wind chill. This is what we get for being spoiled with nice weather for so long! lol
We actually have a TON of leaves in our entry way. Something about how the wind blows they always end up there no matter the season. They are good and crisp, probably a whole garbage bag full if you want them.
Also, we're not lazy, I promise. I've probably trashed 5 bags already accumulated this winter.
