s/o Baby Monitors

So many of you have video monitors that now I want one!  Do you like yours? Tell me about it!

Re: s/o Baby Monitors

  • I've had 2 different models by Summer and have been quite happy with them.

I personally went with the one that had the toggle/movable camera for my last one knowing we'd be using it in the basement down the road and it's helpful to be able to pan/tilt/zoom when trying to watch such a large room.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • We've had two Summer ones, too, and both have been good.  It was one of those things that I thought was complete overkill, but my MIL bought it for us and now I can't live without it.

We have one that came with two cameras, so one channel for each kid's room.  We just focus them on the bed, but the moveable camera that howleyshell mentioned would be nice because DS goofs around in his room and I'd like to know what's happening.

Your post below about using it to see when they actually fall asleep makes having one sound really attractive. I'll check out Summer's. Thanks!

  • Ours is a Summer too, and it's been great. We only have the one camera, but I like how easy it would be to add additional ones. And I love love love that I can easily see if she's actually asleep (or awake, for that matter) and it has a great "night-vision" feature.

  • i have had a summer infant and a motorola one.  i like the motorola one better.  i can post a link later.  i also have an extra summer infant  camera if anyone is interested in another camera.
  • DH wanted one and his parents offered to get us one before DD was born but I felt guilty about spending their money so I said no...  I SO wish that I had said yes because I know understand how handy they can be!!!  : (
  • I too have the Summer one.   Our first one worked great, but after 4 years the battery wouldn't stayed charged anymore.    We are on our 2nd Summer one and as Shelly said - it is one where I can move the camera around and zoom with my handheld.  Love that!  Especially now that DS is crawling around his crib.
