Qdoba vs Chipotle

What makes one better than the other?

I've only been to Qdoba because the closest Chipotle is 25 min away, and Qdoba is kind of a spur of the moment meal idea so we never want to drive that far.  So people.  Tell me why I need to drive to Chipotle this weekend.

Re: Qdoba vs Chipotle

  • Yeah!  I'm glad I didn't totally miss this discussion from last night.

I'm a Chipotle fan.  I think the flavors are just better, IMO.  Qdoba is okay, but it's never blown me away.  Chipotle is delicious.

That said, I haven't been to either in well over a year.

  • Chipotle.  I loved Qdoba until Chipotle came to town - I think the food is more flavorful at Chipotle.  I also enjoy Moe's, which is probably the one we end up visiting the most since it's right off the highway for us.
  • I haven't been to Chipotle. What makes it better in you opinion?
  • Honestly I don't think any of them are any better then the others (Qdoba, Chipotle & Moe's). There are items at each that I like better then the other places. I can't think of a time where we've said "Hey! Let's go to Qdoba (or Chipotle or Moe's) for dinner!" Usually we eat at one of those places if we're short on time & we're near one. Huh?

  • Now that McDonalds no longer has any interest in Chipotle, I might give it another try.

  • Based on assessments from sources I consider credible with regard to food (Kasa, Chymes, JuliD), I think a side by side comparison is in order.

I've had both, but never close enough in time to decide which is better.  Last night I mentioned that I usually choose Qdoba based on proximity--it seems like there are either more of them or more in the places that I go.

  • I've only ever had Qdoba, and I am not a fan.

  • What's Moe's?

I haven't had Qdoba or Chipotle in a long time, but if I remember correctly, I like Qdoba's quesadillas and Chipotle's burritos.

I'm not firmly planted on either team.

  • Chipotle, no question. Fresher ingredients. Better taste.

The burritos at Qdoba are like footballs and make me feel like a beached whale for hours. Bleh. I can eat lunch at Chipotle and go for a run within an hour or two. Since Chipotle opened (and before that, Moe's, because even that trumps Qdoba) we haven't even considered Qdoba an option if we want that type of fast food.

  • We're Qdoba people here.

We live really close to the Rivertown one, so we go there frequently.  We really like the food, plus we love their rewards program.

We've had Chipotle once, and it was when the one opened on 28th near Woodland.  We braved the cold rain for a free burrito.  Neither of us thought it was anything spectacular to warrant the drive when Qdoba is so close.

Perhaps a side-by-side comparison is a good idea.  But we'll probably just stick with Qdoba.  But I do want to try Moe's.
