throwing 30th bday surpsise..Venues? Ideas? North Jersey
I would like to throw a 30th bday surprise for a friend of mine. Any venues that have decent pricing? Or any other ideas to throw a party in North Jersey Morris County area preferably? TIA!

oh gosh i dont know price wise! i dont know what venues go for. I know we through one at the Marriot in Cedar Knolls about 6 years ago it was 2500 with out booze we brought our own. But they dont do that anymore i dont think.
Nothing formal. Maybe a smaller rest. or a lounge. Buffet style or hors deourves if we do a hall that isn't much money.
for the price you gave above, you can easily do a buffet style at the brownstone WITH beer and wine included.
La primavera restaurant in West orange is phenomenal (we had Carys' christening there) and there in your price range WITH alcohol included as well. You can use Wilshire Grand's room too for free (but for 40-50 ppl you wont' need to anyway)
I have had events at both places (and I do the brownstone every year for my company party) - they're both great, and food is excellen at both places. Good thing about brownstone is that there wil likely be like 3 or 4 other parties at the same time, so since it's a surprise, she won't be able to look at the cars in the parking lot and wonder why "aunt sally is here"
