Bookkeeping?

Curious to see if anyone here is a bookkeeper. I currently work in finance and have experience in accounting. A co-worker of mine has recently become certified in bookkeeping and has brought the possibility of starting a bookkeeping business to my attention. DH and I are TTC and would love to fine a way to be at home more often once we have a child. This seems like a good way to do it and have an income, which in our case is necessary.
Is anyone else in the same boat or have bookkeeping experience that can offer advice?
