Update on H and EI-She Did Qualify.

I'm pretty shocked, but H did qualify for EI.  She qualified in the "cognitive" section.  She did not qualify for speech, she was at a 15 month level for expressive speech (and she is just 17 months as of yesterday).  We have another meeting in a month with her teacher and then I guess she starts.  They told me they think it's easier for her to start with her cognition and then they'll go on to the speech if necessary.  I guess once you are in the system, it's easier to switch categories. 

I'm actually very relieved that she'll be getting these benefits, but then a little smidge of me feels like I'm not doing the right things for her.  Anyway, just wanted to update you all.

When Sofia and Ava started, they were getting 3 hrs a week of developmental. And then one of those hours turned to speech. The therapists that we have through EI have been great.

That is great news that she qualifies and will get the help she needs.  I have been down in the dumps today and worried about my little man.  I hope he catches up.  If not I hope they don't turn him away god forbid I need to have his case re-opened.
