Early voting

ugh, I wish we could do this in AL as FL and GA are doing this as they know the turnout is going to be HUGE w/this election.  Why do we have to be so backwards and just wait?!!?!?  I know that when I get back to AU that I'm SURE the lines are going to be CRAZY!!!!  oh well, I'll still vote!!!

Re: Early voting

  • Good morning!

I know! Of course working from Auburn and being out and about with work makes it easy to just swing by there, I am just impatient! I think I will go around 10...

  • I agree!!  I'm thinking that I'll take an early lunch hour and go vote then.  I know it'll be jam packed early in the morning and after work.
  • yeah I'm screwed though as I know I'll prob only get to leave a little early and be stuck in line.  Oh well.
  • It would make things so much easier.  I am planning on taking a late lunch around 2, in hopes that the crowds are lighter.  Of course, I still don't show up in the system under my married name, even though I submitted the application over a month ago.  They told me I can't vote under my maiden name either.

  • Working 4-10's is what's killing me.  I'm planning on seeing if I can get off a little early so I'll have time to vote.  But the lines will still be long.
    Siggy coming soon....

It has been all over the news here that if you work a 10 or more hour shift, your employer is required to give you an hour of time to go vote.

If you have valid ID and take your marriage lic, I don't see why they wouldn't let you vote.  That's ridiculous

I haven't heard about that.  Good to know though.  I don't think it'll be a big problem though.  I can just leave an hour or 2 early because my polling place is about 20 miles from my work.

  • I wish we could do this too.  I'm really worried about voting. I'll have to go in the morning and hope for the best - I'm scheduled to be in Tuscaloosa for school all day on Tuesday, and if I don't get to vote in the morning, I'm going to be SOL by the time I get home.
  • I know!  We were thinking about doing an absentee vote in case we didn't get back to town in time, but don't trust that it won't get "misplaced" or "lost".  We'll just leave early in the morning and get back before afternoon.
