Anyones baby have a cyst?
Genevieve developed this little bump on her chest a few months back & at her 9 month appt the ped said it was similar to a strawberry birthmark (looks nothing like the 2 strawberries Josie has). Yesterday at her 1 year appt I asked about it again because it had grown in size and was looking like a whitehead. So the ped (different one this appt) looked at it and squeezed it a little and some discharge came out. He said it was a cyst, but that it was nothing to worry about. Today though it is much bigger, deflated & purple. After her bath I tried looking at it more closely, but everytime I touched it she cried. Would you bring her back? Has anyone's child had anything like this?
Re: Anyones baby have a cyst?
i had one on my leg when i was young... like 1st grade.
it was on my leg... and got huge - like the size of a small marshmallow.... it was SO NASTY - my older siblings were having fun squeezing it to make the puss come out... really- so f-ing nasty, they have vivid memories of it... they had a blast with it I guess, lol.
I had to have it removed surgically... it wasn't going to go away. I have a little scar now from it- but otherwise all is fine- i never got anything else like that in my life.
If it doesn't go away i'd see a pedi derm.
some cysts will go away- some will get small then reappear, etc. Mine was huge and gross and very painful- which is why we just had it removed.
My sis had one on her neck under her chin (like an adam's apple). My parents had it removed when she was 4-5. She has a tiny scar but it's TINY. I mean, you have to really look for it to see it.
