If you have a Kindle Fire & Optimum WiFi please help!

I got my Fire last night and it isn't finding Optimum Wifi. My old Kindle, and both my dad & nephew's laptops always find the signal but this thing won't. I don't get it. Did anyone have trouble like this?

Thanks.

I had to add the kindle MAC Address to the devices that my wi-fi supports and I'm hoping it just took some time for Optimum to update their records or something. Is the IP address the same as the MAC address??

I need to hire a techie to come figure this out for me. Sad
