dooce.com - Jon and Heather separating
Anyone else follow dooce? I thought something was going on over the past couple of months as her updates/writing seemed...different. I'm not sure how, but she just seemed a little less funny and a bit harsher.
It feels weird to want to talk about it, but I guess bloggers are in a gray area between online friends and celebrities - you are concerned for their wellbeing, but also curious about the reality of their lives.
I hope Pioneer Woman, Amalah and Young House Love keep their marriages strong!
Re: dooce.com - Jon and Heather separating
Yeah, I still have her in my Google Reader but was completely uninterested in all the running/injuries/airplane window photos that were making up the bulk of her entries recently, so I'd only been skimming.
I know I read that she's working through a lot of weird stuff related to her dad. I wish she would either come out and say it or just stop making veiled allusions to it. I have no idea what that's all about, but from her last post it sounds like it has something to do with the break. I hope they work things out - they seem pretty well fit for each other and have a lot built around their relationship, not just their kids but company, etc.

baby blog/cooking blog

Like MPD, I also started super skimming her posts in the last few months, and not even opening them when my Google Reader was particularly full. However, I feel like this is one of the most difficult types of separations. Not only do they have kids, and are "celebrities" in that people know who they are, but they work together - dooce.com was a job for them both, and it makes you wonder how they can handle that. I guess since she writes it, she keeps it, just seems particularly complicated.
Hope for the kids sake they can work things out...they've been through so much, especially with her PPD.
Jon posted in his blog that Heather asked him to find a new job.
I agree it makes you think about how even strong marriages might need tune-ups.
Time to plan a date night!
Ugh. I was so sad when I read it.
Although, I too knew for a while something was up.
