Leather seats in car and car seats...

Does anyone have leather seats in their vehicle?  If so, did the car seat ruin or make any indentations from it?  I just got my first new car last year and I am expecting my first child in June and am worried that the car seat will ruin the leather in the back seat.  Any ideas?   Thanks!

  • I have a pad from Target that I keep under our carseats. It is also good for when they are toddlers and spill stuff :)

  • We use the seat protector pad. We got it at Target.  The indentations from the carseat were really bad in our Honda.  We had to break down and get the pad.

  • We have leather in the truck and yes, it does make indents in the seat but it does sort of work itself out when you take the seat out but probably not all the way. We have cloth seats in the car and there are still indents in the cloth. Any car seat, if installed tight enough, will leave indents most likely in any type of seat. And FWIW, aftermarket things like seat protectors/pads will void the warranty of your car seat. I totally get the idea but would rather not sacrifice the safety of my kids. I just chalk it up to yet another sacrifice of having children :)
